Consultation
The orthopaedic consultation
At the first consultation, the doctor reviews your symptoms, how and when the pain started, your medical history and any previous imaging, and then examines you. An ultrasound is often carried out during the same visit.
You leave with a clear diagnosis and a treatment plan: physiotherapy, injections, rehabilitation or, if needed, referral to a surgeon. Second opinions on a diagnosis or a surgical recommendation are welcome.
Please bring any recent X-rays, MRI or CT scans and their reports, previous surgical reports, and a list of your current medication.
