Echocardiography
Echocardiography is an examination that allows the heart to be seen in real time using ultrasound.
Stress tests
An exercise stress test, also called a stress test, is an examination used to assess how the heart responds during physical effort.
Carotid Doppler
An ultrasound of the carotid arteries in the neck, which supply the brain. It shows the vessel walls and the blood flow and can detect plaque or narrowing. It is part of a cardiovascular risk assessment.
Resting ECG
Electrodes on the chest, arms and legs record the electrical activity of the heart at rest, in a few minutes. It shows rhythm disturbances, conduction problems and signs of a previous heart attack.
Holter ECG
A Holter ECG is a recording of the heart’s electrical activity over an extended period of time, most often 24 to 48 hours, and sometimes longer if needed.
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, also called 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, records blood pressure over a full 24-hour period.
