Travel safe, return healthy!
Your Travel Vaccination Clinic at Findel Medic

Different countries, different risks: To ensure your trip remains unforgettable – and isn’t interrupted by illness – we support you with optimal preparation.

Why a consultation is important:
Many infectious diseases, such as Hepatitis, Yellow Fever, or Rabies, are more common in popular travel destinations than here. Individual vaccination protection effectively safeguards you and your family.

Our Services for You:

  • Personalized Check: Comparing your vaccination record with the current recommendations of STIKO and the WHO.
  • Country-Specific Advice: Up-to-date information on mandatory vaccinations (e.g., Yellow Fever) and malaria prophylaxis.
  • IMPORTANT: After an animal bite, you should always seek local medical attention immediately, even if you have been vaccinated against Rabies.

Food & Drink: “Cook it, peel it or forget it!”
In distant lands, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, or the classic “Traveler’s Diarrhea” (Montezuma’s Revenge) are often uninvited guests. Protect yourself with the golden rule:

  • Water Safety: Only drink from originally sealed bottles. No tap water, no ice cubes.
  • Fresh & Hot: Only eat freshly cooked food or fruit that you have peeled yourself.
  • Avoid: Raw salads, unpeeled vegetables, and open-scoop ice cream in regions with low hygiene standards.

Mosquito Protection: No chance for Malaria & Co.
Whether it’s day-active Aedes mosquitoes (Dengue, Zika) or dusk-active Anopheles (Malaria) – bite prevention is your best medicine.

  • The Right Gear: Wear light-colored, loose clothing that covers arms and legs. Pre-impregnated clothing (e.g., with Permethrin) is ideal.
  • Sleep Safely: Use treated mosquito nets and air-conditioned rooms.
  • Using Repellents Correctly:
    • Rely on active ingredients such as DEET or Icaridin.
    • Apply sunscreen first, wait 20 minutes, then apply mosquito spray.
    • Reapply regularly, especially after swimming or heavy sweating.

Your Travel Kit: Well-equipped for the journey
A minor accident or infection can happen anywhere. We help you put your kit together:
Basics: Remedies for diarrhea, nausea, pain & fever, and if necessary, thrombosis prophylaxis for the flight.
Skin: Creams for sunburn and insect bites.
Daily Medication: Take a sufficient supply of your regular medications.
Emergency Antibiotics: Useful for certain destinations.
Our Service: We provide individual advice based on your destination and issue the necessary prescriptions for your travel kit.

Sun Protection
Enjoy the sun – but safely!
Vacation means sun, beach, and good vibes. But be careful: in many travel destinations, UV radiation is significantly more intense than at home. Protect your skin and your health!
Our top tips for sun protection:

  • Midday Break: Avoid the direct sun between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
  • Textile Protection: A hat, sunglasses, and tightly woven clothing are the best blocks for UV rays.
  • Apply Correctly: Use a high sun protection factor (at least SPF 30, SPF 50+ in southern regions). Apply sunscreen generously 30 minutes before sun exposure and reapply after swimming.
  • Don’t Forget to Drink: Dehydration is the most common side effect of intense heat.
Note on Medication: Some medicines (e.g., certain antibiotics) make the skin more sensitive to light. Talk to us – we are happy to advise you individually for your travel kit!
